In July this year we were delighted to be asked to handle the logistics for a large shipment from Japan for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. The shipment of broadcast equipment was for NHK, the Japanse National Broadcasting Corporation.
Their particular interest in Wimbledon this year was due to Japan's world ranked number six tennis player, Kei Nishikori, taking part in this iconic event. As if this wasn't enough of a reason to be broadcasting, NHK wanted to showcase their new Super High Vision 8K equipment and Wimbledon was just the event for them to do this.
Delivered on Time, in conjunction with Towa in Japan were responsible for moving in excess of 13,000kg of high value television broadcast equipment to the event and back to Japan afterwards. Delivered on Time's special events team carried out recces at the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club to ensure there were no surprises for the safe and timely delivery of the equipment on arrival in the UK.
Sporting events like Wimbledon are where Delivered on Time's logistics skills lie, and we have experience over a broad cross section of different international events.
