After 8 months and 9 countries, this year's show car tour for Marussia F1's sponsor QNet is finally drawing to a close, and what an adventure it has been.
We have been responsible for the movement of the car and associated display materials, including all customs related issues, which have taken in the following destinations:
Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia
Dubai and Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates
Riyadh - Saudi Arabia
Beirut – Lebanon
Cairo and Alexandria – Egypt
Almaty, Astana and Shymkent – Kazakhstan
Bishkek – Kyrgyzstan
Jakarta – Indonesia
Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur - India
To ensure the project went to schedule we coordinated all logistics with QNet's nominated sponsorship activation agency, Affinity Partnerships. These guys certainly know what they are doing and it made our job all the easier to work with such professionals.
Some of the countries and cities visited have certainly been off the beaten track but we have taken this in our stride and with our excellent network of overseas agents and project manager that has travelled to the more unusual destinations to train our suppliers, the project has been a resounding success from a logistics perspective.
Not only have we handled the logistics, but our project manager has frequently carried out recces of the chosen venues and advised on positioning to maximise benefit from the display.
QNet have confirmed that they achieved all they set out to with the project and are already in discussions to decide how the show car tour will fit in their sponsorship activation programme for 2013.
Delivered on Time will now be storing the show car for the winter months and overseeing the refurbishment and new livery on behalf of QNet in preparation for the new year.
